I Got Maplestory Problems?

Ok, so today I re-started playing MS after almost 5-7 months and I am 41 lvl Blaze Wizard. I am currently in Ariant and I am unable to kill monsters that are like level 29 meerkats and lvl 30 kiyos. Like I will use my fire pillar at them and it had no effect, it just says MISS. Whats going on? Please helpp.
