Should i ask this girl out?

i need encouragement. i got this girls number 2 days ago. it was the first time i talked to her so i dont really know her but shes in my class. i got her number for school purposes though n i made up an excuse tht i would be out of town, which i will be but next week. the 4th is my bday n i wanted to take her out to the movies or something. im thinking it might be too early for tht but idk. advice?
