Why do Wiccans call themselves Raven so much?

Do they just think it sounds cool because Edgar Allan Poe gave ravens a dark, brooding reputation? Or is there some other special meaning to the word. I hope all the RavenMoons and ShadowRavens, or WHATEVER Ravens out there aren't just being pretentious.
