I read my girlfriends text wrong....now she hates me?

So i was sitting in my room brooding and acting all emo like last night because my girlfriend broke up with me. The thing is, she sent me a text saying that she wanted to get back together with me, and that she broke up with her current boyfriend. I got so excited I went to the arts and crafts store to make her a paper mache bust of my love for her. Like my friend Matt. So when I went to her house to present her with my affection, she turned me down. She told me that she didn't mean to lead me on, and that she was still in love with her current boy-toy. I was right there....I was so close to getting into "Hot Chick Heaven" as my friend Dylan Guptil would say. I was so devastated. I think she's lying. Should I pursue a relationship with her? Or am I only fooling myself? This is getting dangerous.
