Guy only :( I really need ur help with this?

I was suppose to hang out with my boyfriend around 7 pm he told me he's going to the beach with his friends and he'll be back before 7, I called twice him to see if he still want to go he didn't answer so I texted him he didn't reply either, I called him again his phone was shot, did he turn off his phone on purpose?I mean if he wants to stay there at the park he could atleast tell me not just stop answering my calls and messages :( why do u guys think he did that?? can't he use someone else's phone and text me and tell me that his phone died or something :(
